Update--March, 2009:
The
blog has been
updated, and the notes on
Confucianism now includes the Analects and the Mencius.
Update--March, 2009:
Avant Garde for the New Millennium, an anthology edited by Forrest Armstrong, is now out.
It includes Book 24 from To the House of the Sun, the first time any
of the poem has appeared in print.

Update--October, 2008:
More
reviews have come in for The Lit World--read them
here.
The
Inner Journey: Myth, Psyche and Spirit (edited by Martha
Heyneman), is now available. Never mind my two-page retelling of the
Sirens episode from the Odyssey that's included here; the other
contributors make quite astounding company--Mircea Eliade, Joseph
Campbell, A. K. Coomaraswamy, Diane Wolkstein, Thomas Moore, and others.

Update--March 8, 2008:
This website was originally intended to for the many drafts of my long
poem, To the House of the Sun. But as the poem is nearly done &
likely to be released in the next few years, the most I can do anymore
is post a few sections from the most recent version (which I will do
over the next few months).
But the process of writing the poem--dealing as it does with myth &
religion--has clarified the only other things I'm able to write anymore
otherwise, & it is around these other projects I thought to reorient
this page:
▪
a blog
on religion & myth that I've moved here
▪
an endless series of short
poems taken from history & myth & religion (some of which are linked to
in the about page,
& the first book of which will be
out later this year)
▪
& a long nonfiction study on ritual
& practice in world religion.
The section of
Holy Notes is
an ever-growing collection of sayings etc. that I've come across in the
writing & preparation for all of these, while the
Bookstore is a
source for many (& more) of the books used.
